MH370: Parliament expresses condolences
The Dewan Rakyat today offers its condolences to family members of those aboard flight MH370 which ended in the Southern Indian Ocean.
Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia addressed the House following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s announcement of the plane’s fate at 10pm on Monday.
‘On behalf of the Dewan Rakyat and the whole of Parliament, I would like to record our condolences to the families of the passengers and crew of MH370,” Pandikar said.
“I would like to take this opportunity to ask that they remain strong and brave in facing this.”
The House also observed a minute of silence this morning at the start of the sitting while Pandikar called for all Muslim members of parliament to recite the Al-Fatihah.
Datuk Seri Najib Razak in a press conference Monday announced that satellite data confirmed that MH370 had ended in the southern Indian Ocean, a remote area that is far from possible landing sites.
