Michael Kors SS15 Collection

It is a collection that makes you happy about spring and summer, floral sundresses, midriffs on display, gingham dirndl skirts, cropped crisp shirts, corsage details on belts and fresh whites are a pretty great wardrobe game-changer. There were spurts of bright sunshine yellow throughout for sequin-strewn skirts and there are punches of navy, magenta blooms, nautical stripes or mild neutrals.

It was a light-hearted, and perfectly at ease, yet deliberately graceful woman of spring that walked the Michael Kors runway. Even with a voluminous silhouette and robust kitten-heel sandals, Kors maintains an accustomed level of sophistication in all his pieces, achieved with meticulous tailoring. He brought back the mid-century silhouette with nipped waists, and hanging, lady-length tulle skirts. These bulbous skirts were perhaps the most delightful pieces to see, due to the precisely appliquéd flower-strewn tulle on the surface layer.

Michael Kors has always been a positive outlook, cheerful kind of guy. And what’s more optimistic for a spring/summer show than flowers and vibrant colours? So the designer took this collection’s enthrallment with flowers and proceeded to use every conceivable sartorial version at his disposal to interlace the blossoms into his craft. They showed up on the catwalk in the form of crisp white lace, densely beaded embroidery, and as three- dimensional appliqué. But there was also a lot of white on white ensembles keeping the looks clean and fresh! Spring is definitely in full bloom.
