MPV catches fire on NKVE, causes 10km traffic crawl

A four-second second video of the incident that went viral on social media showed the MPV in the middle lane (southbound) in flames.

When contacted by Bernama, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis confirmed the incident and said that the department received a distress call at 4.49 pm.

"The cause of the fire is believed to be due to faulty wiring, however, further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause.

"The fire was completely extinguished by 5.10 pm by firemen from the Damansara station," Norazam said adding that no casualties were reported.

The incident caused a 10-kilometre traffic jam along the expressway.
