Najib checks on 2014 Budget preparations

As in previous years, on the night before the tabling of the national budget in Parliament, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is also Finance Minister, checked on the final preparations for the 2014 Budget at the Finance Ministry here Thursday.

His arrival with his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor at the compound of the Finance Ministry here at about 9pm was received by officers and workers of the ministry involved in the preparation of the budget.

Najib then held a closed door meeting with the senior officers of the ministry before he visited the operations rooms.

Also accompanying the Prime Minister were Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, Treasury Secretary-General Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah and Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.

Najib is scheduled to table the 2014 Budget at the Dewan Rakyat at 4pm Friday. This will be the sixth time he is tabling the budget as Finance Minister.
