Najib opens 2012 Umno general assembly (Video)

The 2012 Umno General Assembly began today with the raising of Umno flag, Sang Saka Bangsa, and members singing the party's anthem 'Bersatu, Bersetia, Berkhidmat", at the Putra Square of Putra World Trade Centre here.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is also Umno President, and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, arrived at the square at 9am and were received by his deputy Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and other Umno leaders.

Accompanied by Wanita chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Youth chief Khairy Jamaludin and Puteri chief Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin, Najib, who was clad in blue Malay attire, also inpected the guard of honour mounted by 150 members of the three Umno wings - Wanita, Youth and Puteri - led by Mohd Noor Afindie Rositi.

A total of 2,973 Umno delegates from across the country are participating in the general assembly this year.
