Najib pays tribute to mothers
Mother's Day
In honour of Mother's Day today, Datuk Seri Najib Razak pays tribute to his mother, Tun Rahah Mohd Noah and all mothers, and wish them a happy Mother's Day.
The prime minister also shared a picture of him kissing the hand of Tun Rahah in his Twitter post.
Najib said nothing was more noble than the task and the role of a mother.
Tun Rahah, 81, was married to the late second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak at the age of 19 while he was 30.
She raised five sons with Najib being the oldest. The others are Ahmad Johari, Mohamed Nizam, Mohamed Nazim and Mohd Nazir.
In the Twitter post, Najib also shared his anguish with the mothers of 276 Nigerian schoolgirls abducted by the Boko Haram militant group.
Selamat Hari Ibu kpd ibu saya & juga semua ibu-ibu! Tiada yg lebih murni daripada tugas dan peranan seorang ibu. pic.twitter.com/glah0nouLm

"This Mother's Day, we are thinking of the mothers of the 276 Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram recently #BringBackOurGirls," he tweeted.
The schoolgirls were seized from their boarding school on the night of 14 April in the village of Chibok in north-eastern Borno state near the Cameroon border while taking an examination.
Fifty of them have escaped while the fate of 200 others is still unknown.
Earlier this month, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau threatened to sell the girls whom he described as slaves and marry them off.
