KUALA LUMPUR: Visitors attending the National Day 2023 celebration in Putrajaya on Aug 31 are advised to use public transport for a smooth journey to the celebration.
The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) secretary-general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa also advised the public to take care of themselves and their children's safety when they are at the location of the celebration which aims to have 100,000 visitors.
"In our joy to celebrate National Day, be wary of safety by following all traffic rules and orders from the authorities.
"We also have feeder buses, the Nadi Putra bus that provides service in Putrajaya starting as early as 4 am to 2 pm and there are two pick up points, at Putrajaya Sentral and Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) every 10 minutes (frequency of bus movement)," he said on the RTM's 'Selamat Pagi Malaysia' programme here today.
Mohamad Fauzi, who is also the National Day and Malaysia Day 2023 Technical Committee chairman, said the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) service has also been asked to coordinate the operating hours for the convenience of the public during the celebration.
Mohamad Fauzi added that several facilities were also provided including parking, eating places, medical tents and toilets for the convenience of visitors.
On the celebration, Mohamad Fauzi said more than 16,000 participants from 65 contingents from various agencies will participate in the 2023 National Day Celebration parade.
