PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat today reiterated his stand that Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim should remain as Selangor menteri besar (MB).

Nik Aziz, who is former Kelantan menteri besar, said there was no reason for him to change his stand over the Selangor menteri besar issue.

"I said it only once, not twice. You can check my earlier statement," he said when met at his residence in Pulau Melaka, here.

Nik Aziz, who looked rather frail, also advised those who accused Khalid of misconduct as MB to stop their misdeed.

"Making accusations against one another can have adverse effects. It's not good to disparage others," he said.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution had recently stated that Khalid should be replaced as menteri besar as there were doubts about his integrity following his questionable settlement of his debt with a bank and over a land sale.

Nik Aziz in his earlier statement had questioned the action of certain quarters in wanting Khalid be replaced as menteri besar.

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang also backed Khalid as according to him, Khalid had not misused the trust given to him by the people.

The party's Dewan Ulama, meanwhile, stated that Khalid should be allowed to continue as menteri besar until the end of his term as there was no concrete reason for him to be replaced.

The crisis in PKR has reached almost boiling point after Khalid was reported to be given until this Friday to reply to a show-cause letter as to why be refused to withdraw from the MB post.
