SHAH ALAM:Police today received another report regarding a molest case involving a television reality program personality.
The ninth police report on the personality involved a nurse at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
The victim claimed she was molested by the suspect in December last year at a studio unit in Section 7 here.
According to Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin, the 26-year-old victim lodged a report at the Dang Wangi Police Station, last Sunday and the case was referred to the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD).
"It is understood that the victim knew the suspect through social media in 2018 and started making friends since then.
"The modus operandi of the suspect is similar to previous cases where he would invite the victim out for a meal before bringing the victim to his house on the pretext of wanting to take something.
“While at home, the suspect allegedly hugged the victim from behind," he said in a press conference after the opening ceremony of the Seri Muda Police Station at Section 25 here today.
Noor Azam said the latest report made by the nurse brings the total to nine reports from victims regarding allegations of rape and molest by the former participant of a religious reality program.
Two of the nine reports, however, said Noor Azam, were classified by the police under no further action (NFA).
At the same time, he said, the police were still conducting investigations by looking at all aspects including collecting relevant information.
"Police will conduct a fair investigation and all information obtained will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further decision. The suspect is still in remand until Friday," he said.
The 25-year-old suspect was arrested on November 26 following a police report lodged at the Shah Alam IPD and remanded for five days starting November 27 to assist in the investigation.
A remand order on the suspect until this Friday was made to assist the police investigation into two police reports made against him for allegedly raping, molesting and having unnatural sex.
Previously, the Petaling Jaya police conducted a case investigation under Section 376 of the Penal Code (rape), Section 377C of the Penal Code (unnatural sex) and Section 354 of the Penal Code (molest).
