The Selangor state government is ready to be investigated in the Paya Indah Wetlands issue, said MB Datuk Seri Mohd Azmin Ali.

He said the state government is ready to cooperate and always open to any party that wants to investigate the issue.

"If anyone has any proof of mismanagement or abuse of power, please make a report, The Selangor state government is ready to cooperate," he told reporters here today.

When asked to comment on the allegations of abuse of power hurled at him, the MB refused to comment.

"Those are allegations. Let investigations be carried out first," he said.

Before this, Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) founder Badrul Hisham Shaharin claimed the state government has initiated the rezoning of Paya Indah Wetlands in lot 68054 of Mukim Tanjong Dua Belas Kuala Langat.

The activist, also known as Chegubard, also alleged the move will disrupt the entire ecosystem of the area which was classified as a wet land under the Ramsar Convention.

State executive councillor for Tourism, Nature, Green Technology and Consumerism Elizabeth Wong had also explained that the state government is not re-zoning the status of lots 4827 and 3974 of the Paya Indah Wetlands for development purposes.

She said, the ​​450.76 hectares of land was gazetted by the Wildlife Department as Wetland Reserve under the National Land Code since 1998.
