Penang Tithe Management Centre (ZPP) chief executive officer Datuk Azman Abdul Samat was brought to court again today to face another corruption charge.
However, he pleaded not guilty to the charge before Sessions Court judge Norsalha Hamzah.
Azman, 50, who is also ZPP general manager, was charged with accepting a Cerutti watch, worth RM1,280, from the proprietor of Safa Murni Enterprise, whom he knew was concerned with his official functions, at the Tithe Training Centre (Pulaza) near here last February.
The charge, under Section 165 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to two years, or fine, or both, if found guilty.
Norsalha set bail at RM4,000 in one surety and fixed Aug 22 for mention.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecution from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Ahmad Ghazali Muhammad Nadzri, while lawyer Mohamed Reza Rahim represented Azman,
Last Wednesday, Azman and a senior ZPP officer pleaded not guilty in the Butterworth Sessions Court separate charges of corruption, allegedly committed between 2010 and 2015.
Three charges were made against Azman.
