The people accept explanation on RM2.6 billion - Shahrir

The Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) is confident that the people have accepted well the government's explanation on the RM2.6 billion donation to Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Its chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad said the response that BN parliamentarians received indicate that the people had accepted it quite well.

He said they did not have any problems with the people's sentiment over the issue.

"The unpleasant news about the issue were merely hyped up in social media, which is untrue.

"Looks good... not as 'big' as hyped up in social media. They're just making it big.

"That's one of the things that we have to be strict with about the social media - false news, need explanation," Shahrir told reporters at a Press conference in Parliament, Tuesday.
