KUALA LUMPUR: Kerajaan perlu menggunakan beberapa kaedah atau cara bagi memastikan rakyat mengambil vaksin COVID-19 di negara ini.
Pakar Penyakit Berjangkit Universiti Malaya dan Ahli Majlis Sains Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) Prof Datuk Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman berpendapat, kerajaan boleh meletakkan sasaran jelas bagi memastikan lebih ramai yang mengambil vaksin COVID-19.
Antara kaedah yang dicadangkan ialah dengan meletakkan sasaran seperti mana-mana daerah yang sudah mencapai lebih 80 peratus mereka yang berusia lebih 50 tahun divaksin, kerajaan akan membenarkan masjid dibuka atau dibenarkan dine-in di restoran.
"Saya rasa kira perlu bekerjasama dengan ketua-ketua kampung, dengan imam-iman, dapatkan mereka terlebih dahulu, untuk yang lain percaya.
"Ya benar vaksin memang ada kesan sampingan tetapi kesan dari COVID-19 lebih teruk berbanding mengambil vaksin.
"Mungkin kita perlu buat, contohnya di satu-satu daerah, lebih 80 peratus yang berumur lebih 50 tahun divaksin, kita boleh buka masjid, kita boleh buka kedai kopi semula," katanya dalam sesi temu bual secara maya bersama tiga wartawan veteran.
Antara yang terlibat dalam sesi tersebut adalah Tokoh Wartawan Nasional, Tan Sri Johan Jaaffar; bekas Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan Star Media, Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai dan Pengasas Kumpulan Karangkraf, Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub.
Dalam sesi tersebut juga, Dr Adeeba berpendapat, sikap orang Melayu yang cepat percaya kepada berita palsu tentang kesan sampingan vaksin COVID-19 menyebabkan ramai yang tidak mahu mengambil vaksin COVID-19.
Beliau berpendapat sikap orang Melayu yang mempunyai kepercayaan tersendiri juga membuatkan ramai mengambil mudah tentang pengambilan vaksin COVID-19 yang sedang giat dijalankan.
"Saya rasa orang Melayu ini cepat percaya kepada berita-berita palsu yang datang entah dari mana-mana.
"Mereka cepat percaya kepada perkara-perkara yang tidak betul, pemikiran mereka lebih cenderung ke arah perkara tersebut.
"Orang kita ini ada satu kepercayaan tersendiri yang tidak selari dengan apa yang diajar oleh Islam, kefahaman kita kepada Qada dan Qadar tidak seperti yang sepatutnya," katanya lagi.
Dr Adeeba menasihatkan orang Melayu terutama di negeri-negeri yang rendah kadar pengambilan vaksin agar tidak mempercayai berita palsu dan segera mengambil vaksin.
