PKR vice-president, Tian Chua has been detained to assist in investigations on the #KitaLawan rally at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters here today. The Batu MP arrived at the police station at approximately 11.30am and was arrested merely 20 minutes while giving his statements over the anti-government rally. The media members who had gathered outside the police station were informed by Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) secretary-general, S.Arutchelvam of Tian Chua's arrest. When met at the police station on Friday, Tian Chua said that the police actions implied that they are performing ‘punitive action’ because if he were to be apprehended at night, they would have to remand him overnight and investigations to be carried out the next day. “So what is the need of trying to detain someone at midnight and creating all this havoc?” he questioned while addressing the Press members who met him at the police station. Tian Chua would be brought to Jinjang Police Station where his statement will be taken later today. He will be remanded until tomorrow. This matter was confirmed by PKR president, Datin Seri Wan Azizah, who on her Facebook wrote that the remand application would take place on Saturday. "The hearing of the application to extend the police remand will take place 10.30 am tomorrow," said Wan Azizah.
