PM launches JR Plus towards facing GE 14

Najib, who was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, arrived at the Putra World Trade Centre here, the venue for the launch, at 3.45pm.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the top leadership of UMNO and its wings and leaders of BN component parties.

On Aug 7, 2009, the BN had launched Jalinan Rakyat to replace the Konsep Ketua 10 (K10) initiative which was employed by Wanita UMNO as a strategic way to get close to the people.

JR PLUS will harness the election machineries of Wanita UMNO, UMNO Youth and Puteri UMNO as well as those of the BN components and their wings.

Najib, in his speech, said the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) embraced by the goverment had resulted in all the three wings of UMNO and various levels of the component parties and non-governmental organisations working together in facing GE14.

"Unlike before when they operated in their own silos, looking after their own territories and not tolerating interference, That era is no longer suitable.

"We want cooperation not competition. We want to share information. What we learn, we share. Do not say mind your own business.

"What's is the use if information obtained by Wanita (UMNO) is not shared with others or not acted upon, it will just remain as information received.

"Information is only powerful if UMNO Youth, Puteri (UMNO) or the component parties can use to their advantage," he said.
