KUALA LUMPUR:UMNO is taking the stand that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government should be maintained following the political unrest in Perak.
In a statement on Friday, UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan suggested that all Perak state executive councilors must also continue.
"UMNO is also of the view that Bersatu and Pas should also support the Perak state PN government.
"The vote of confidence that took place today only involved the post of Menteri Perak without changing the status of the state government," he said.
Earlier today, the Perak State Assembly (DUN) sitting saw Ahmad Faizal, who is also the Menteri Besar, failing to get a majority of the vote of confidence in him.
48 ADUNs did not support the motion and only 10 supported while there was one spoilt or neutral vote.
