Police break down search for Jashiah into seven sectors
Jashiah, the headmistress of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Keramat Satu, was seen leaving her house on Friday evening.
The search and rescue operations (SAR) for Jashiah Rabu which entered its 13th day today has been split into seven sectors in the effort to track her down.
Hulu Selangor District Police Chief Supt R. Supramaniam said the search areas included the rubber estate where Jashiah, 53, was last seen by a witness.
"The main focus of the SAR today is on the rubber estate at the edge of Bukit Kutu, involving a search radius of one kilometre, and conducted by 15 personnel.
"So far, there are no positive indicators found by our personnel and the SAR operations which began at 9 am was stopped at 7 pm," he told reporters here today.
The SAR operations today included 65 personnel from the police force, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Department of Civil Defence, the General Operations Force, as well as villagers.
In a separate development, Supramaniam said a Yassin-reading and special prayer session was held for Jashiah last night at a mosque here, attended by about 450 people.
Jashiah, the headmistress of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Keramat Satu, was seen leaving her house on Friday evening and when her husband Ruzilan Omar, 57, returned home, he found their door of their house open and Jashiah missing.
It is understood that Jashiah headed for the Bukit Kutu forest reserve after she left her house at Taman Seri Seruling on foot and hitched a car ride for about 10 kilometres.
