Police to leave no stone unturned in personnel terrorist investigation

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will leave no stone unturned in its investigation into suspicions that one of its personnel with the rank of Corporal in Kunak, Sabah is a member of a Sulu terrorist group.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin said the suspect who was believed to have aided terrorists in illegally entering and leaving the country, had family ties living in the Southern Philippines.

He said this when asked to comment on the police personnel who was among six people detained in a special operation in Kunak, Sabah on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Mohd Bakri who witnessed the passing out parade by 1,473 women constable trainees at the Police Training Centre here today, said 22 of them were Chinese.

"The PDRM encourages more applicants from the Chinese community in view of the requirement and to ensure participation of every race in the country's enforcement team.

"PDRM has also processed the selection for Chinese applicants and they will be duly called," he told reporters.

Maizatul Fadzeera Zulkepli Mohd Bakri was named Best Overall Trainee while Maizatul Aishah Muhammad Nor received the Best Academic Trainee award and Siti Nur Aznii Arzemi, the Best External Trainee award at the ceremony.
