Police to record Tun Mahathir's statement today - IGP
In his Feb 5 blog post, Dr Mahathir had made allegations again Najib, Razak Baginda as well as Mohamad Apandi.
The Royal Malaysian Police would be recording the statement of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad relating to the contents of his blog post which allegedly contained elements of slander towards Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamad Apandi Ali and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the police needed to probe the former premier following several police reports being lodged over the matter.
"We are recording his statement based on what he wrote in his blog post.
"We have received several police reports on the matter, so the police are forced to investigate.
"The meeting place has been set, chosen by Tun himself. Not in Bukit Aman. I believe it is happening as we speak," he told reporters at the officers' mess in Bukit Aman today.
