Two policemen were shot in an incident at Taman Lembah Maju on Friday morning.
Police sources said that the incident, which happened at 11am, involved two policemen with Lance Corporal and Constable ranking. They were patrolling the area when they met a man riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner.
The man was riding a Yamaha LC 135 motorcycle and when he was stopped for inspection by the two policemen. As the man was stopped for inspection another individual dressed in a grey shirt and blue jeans arrived holding a helmet.
Upon witnessing his friend being searched by the police, this individual had attempted to escape but was chased by the two policemen.
The Lance Corporal had managed to grab the suspect's shirt, who turned around and fought the police before shooting at them.
The Lance Corporal was injured in his stomach while the Constable was injured on his crotch.
The suspect who escaped into one of the lanes near the shop lots is believed to be wearing a pair of jeans and a yellow top. A tiger tattoo was also spotted at the back of his body.
The weapon used is believed to be a 2-inch ball bearing gun.
