Reform leader's mentality before urging the rakyat to do so - Musa Hasan

The country’s top leadership must be prepared for mentality reform, attitude as well the pattern of government administration particularly towards the Royal Malaysia Police before urging the rakyat to change their negative perceptions on the uniformed body.

Former inspector-general Tan Sri Musa Hasan said, the rakyat will only change accordingly only after a leader has done so.

“If it's true that a leader does not take heed of what the public say, then make an effort to fix the existing national policing system in the five-year national transformation plan.

“A change in the policy or the leader is only seen to be more popular without taking any adequate drastic,” he said when contacted by Astro AWANI here, today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak earlier had reported saying he will govern the country in the best and fairest manner for Malaysia to achieve a desirable progress in Islamic principles.

Said Najib, as leader chosen by the rakyat, he is obliged to carry out his duties and do what he does best according to Islam principles.

Musa also added that it is unfair for any quarters to assume that all reports lodged to the police have been left unattended.
