All schools under the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) will also be closed for two days from tomorrow.
JAIS deputy director Ahmad Zaki Arsad said this was in line with the Education Ministry's statement directing all schools in the peninsula, except in Kelantan, to close for two days following the bad haze situation in the country.
"No replacement of classes is needed following the closure," he said in a statement here, today.
However, the administration of the schools must work as normal, he said.
Meanwhile, in another statement, Universiti Selangor (Unisel) said it would also postpone classes tomorrow and resume normal operations Tuesday.
Unisel Vice President & Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Internationalisation) Prof Dr Mokhtar Abdullah said the decision was arrived at following the worsening haze .
"The closure involves both Unisel's campuses, namely, Bestari Jaya and Shah Alam," he said.
In addition, he said announcements on further postponements would be made based on the monitoring of the API from time to time.
As of 7pm, Shah Alam recorded an API reading of 183, Port Klang, 180, and Banting, 168, all in the unhealthy category.
