RMCO: 23 individuals detained, 61 compounded
Ismail Sabri said a total of 3,748 Compliance teams involving 16,743 members had been monitoring.
A total of 23 individuals were arrested and remanded by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for violation of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) on Thursday.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the PDRM also issued compounds to 61 individuals for various offences on the second day of the RMCO implementation.
"It clearly shows that despite the many flexibilities that the government has allowed, there are still many who have been taken action by the PDRM.
“So, it is not that when the RMCO replaces the Conditional MCO (CMCO), no further legal action will be taken. This means that the people need to continue to comply with each SOP and government regulations.
"Failure to do so means action will be taken," he said at a press conference here on Friday.
In the meantime, he said, the PDRM through the Compliance Operations Task Force had conducted 64,482 inspections to monitor and enforce compliance with the RMCO's SOP.
He said a total of 3,748 Compliance teams involving 16,743 members had been monitoring.
