RON95, RON97 and diesel down by 10 sen in August
The announcement refuted rumours alleging the price of the three types of fuel by as much as 35 sen per litre.
The retail price of RON95 and RON97 petrol as well as diesel will be reduced by 10 sen per litre in August effective midnight.
The new price after Goods and Services Tax (GST) for RON95 is RM2.05 per litre while the price for RON97 is RM2.45 per litre and the price for diesel is RM1.95 per litre.
"The price will be effective from 12.01 am, Aug 1," Malaysian Petrol Dealers Association deputy president Datuk Zulkifli Mokti said when contacted by Bernama.
The announcement also refuted rumours on social media by certain parties which alleged the government would be increasing the price of the three types of fuel by as much as 35 sen per litre.
It quoted the secretary-general of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry as the source of information.
