RRIMniaga to be compulsory from Jan 2021 - Khairuddin
According to Mohd Khairuddin, the RRIMniaga app can speed up the Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) application process.
The government is sticking with its decision to make RRIMniaga compulsory next year.
RRIMniaga is a special mobile application (app) to record and ease rubber transactions for licence holders, buyers and dealers registered with the Malaysian Rubber Board.
Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali warned that those who failed to comply with the requirements would face revocation of their licences.
"We have three more months and it seems that most of them have begun to understand the purpose of using RRIMniaga. It is easy to use, only download on mobile phones.
"It is not possible to reverse the decision because this is for the benefit of smallholders. When January 2021 comes, we will delete those who are still not using this app as licence holders, buyers and middlemen," he told reporters.
He said this after launching the state-level RRIMniaga and 'Getah Untuk Pribumi' (GUP) Tapping Panel project at Seri Iskandar National Youth Skills Institute here, today.
According to Mohd Khairuddin, the RRIMniaga app can speed up the Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) application process as it records purchase transactions and generates receipts electronically, and can be accessed even without the Internet.
"With RRIMniaga, IPG payments will be deposited directly into the bank account of eligible applicants, and smallholders are assured of an income and their welfare when rubber prices are low," he said.
The minister said since the app's introduction in 2018, a total of 400 out of about 4,000 licence holders, buyers and dealers in Malacca, Kelantan, Pahang, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Perlis and Selangor have registered and used it.
In Perak, since its introduction in June, 40 licence holders have been using the app as of Sept 1, and the target is 466 by the mandatory period, he said.
On GUP, Mohd Khairuddin said the project implemented in Sungai Perah near here, since 2012, currently has 11 participants involving the Orang Asli community.
"This initiative enables the Orang Asli and Pribumi communities to develop their idle land for rubber with quality seeds and latest clones," he said.
