Sarawak Energy provides aid to Bakun resettlement fire victims
Sarawak Energy assistant general manager for Corporate Social Responsibility Jiwari Abdullah hoped the aid given was able to provide some respite during the villagers'' time of need.
Sarawak Energy has joined other concerned agencies to provide immediate relief to 100 villagers of Uma Badeng in the Sungai Koyan Bakun Resettlement Scheme, Belaga after a 15 door-block of the longhouse was razed by fire on Tuesday evening.
Speaking at the aid presentation on Wednesday, Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon said this spirit of cooperation and kindness shown by Sarawak Energy, community leaders and the people ought to be emulated by all.
"It is during times like this when we need everyone to come together and extend a helping hand and provide much needed relief," said Kennedy.
