With sibling positive for COVID-19, Ras Adiba awaits test result with heart pounding

KUALA LUMPUR:Ras Afiona Radzi, younger sister of Member of the Senate, Senator Ras Adiba Radzi, has been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19.

Ras Afiona, who is also the special officer for her sister, is currently receiving treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Ras Adiba when contacted on Monday informed that she and her family members were still waiting for the results of the COVID-19 screening test.

Ras Adiba said waiting for the test results was a thrilling moment for her and her family members.

"Of course my heart is pounding. All kinds of feelings are felt. Pray for the best for me, please," she told Astro AWANI.

On Sunday, Ras Adiba shared the news of her sister being COVID-19 positive on her social media account.

"For everyone's information, I and 10 members of my family are waiting for the COVID-19 screening results.

"In this instance, I would like to apologise if it has bothered any party following the incident that has befallen me and my family," she said in a statement uploaded on her personal Twitter account.

At the same time, Ras Adiba said she accepts the trials and challenges ahead and prayed that all Malaysians be protected from the epidemic.

The Dewan Rakyat sitting on Monday was adjourned at 1 pm after Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Parliament), Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan informed that several Dewan Negara staff were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

In fact, Takiyuddin said Members of the Senate were being examined to ensure they were not infected with the epidemic.
