Statements recorded from victims of 'Kelantan awards'
The police are in the midst of recording statements from four people who claimed to have fallen prey to a scam pertaining to the Kelantan state awards and medallions.
State police chief Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said the police were due to round-up their investigations, adding that further information would be obtained from alleged recipients residing in Sarawak.
He said this in a media conference at the state police contingent headquarters here today.
Jalaluddin advised the public to be wary of fraudsters offering such awards and medallions which purportedly carried the title, 'Datuk Seri DiRaja'.
Kelantan ceremonial chief Datuk Abdul Halim Hamad was earlier reported to have revealed that the Kelantan palace had detected an attempt by unscrupulous individuals to solicit up to RM200,000 from the public for the purported award.
