Teacher gets jail for obscene photograph, pornographic film

A teacher at a religious secondary school was sentenced to two years' imprisonment by the Sessions Court here today for circulating an obscene photograph and possession of a pornographic film.
Judge Ahmad Bazli Bahruddin ruled that the defence had failed to raise a reasonable doubt in the prosecution's case against Nik Adid Nik Mat, 43, a teacher at Sekolah Menengah Agama Nurul Falah, Cherang Ruku, Pasir Puteh.
Nik Adid was found guilty on the first charge of circulating a photograph captioned, 'Pesta Bogel' via Facebook with the intention of offending others.
He committed the offence at an address in Jalan Maahad Saniah, Pasir Puteh on Aug 8, 2014, at 9pm.
He was found guilty on the second charge of possession of a pornographic film at the same address on Aug 21, 2014 at 4.45am.
Meanwhile, the court granted the stay of sentence and conviction applied by counsel Siti Syareah Meor pending appeal but set RM15,000 as bail for Nik Adid.
