Three killed, three injured in Melaka road accident
According to the police, during the accident it had been raining and the road was wet at that time.
Three men died and three others were injured in a road accident involving two cars at Jalan Machap-Durian Tunggal in Alor Gajah near here early today, police said.
Alor Gajah Police chief Supt A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the dead had been identified as P. Raman, 51, the driver of a Proton Waja car; Sin Jia Chung, 22, the driver of a Toyota Vios car and Yong Heh Ah, also 22, a passenger of Sin's.
Two other men in the Toyota Vios, Yau Chin Soon, 22, and Lee Sue Xuan, 23, were seriously injured while another man, Lee Lian Kuang, 22, was slightly injured in the accident that took place at about 5am, he said.
Asmadi said the injured were taken to the Melaka Hospital.
He said Raman, who was from Kampung Bertam Hulu, had been driving from Machap to Durian Tunggal and Sin, who was from Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan, had been driving in the opposite direction. It had been raining and the road was wet at that time, he added.
The three bodies were taken to the Alor Gajah Hospital, he said.
