TAWAU: A three-year-old boy is feared to have drowned after falling off a bridge into Sungai Tawau at Kampung Jawa Lanut here this afternoon.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said in a statement that they learnt of the incident at 2.45 pm.
"A team commenced a search and rescue operation for Mohd Alif Amuddin along the river with a two-kilometre radius search from the location the victim was reported to have fallen from.
"Police and villagers also assisted in the search operation," the statement read.
The operation was halted at 6.05 pm and will resume tomorrow.
