Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has urged Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim to use his position as member of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to conduct a full investigation into allegations stating that he had misused the state government during his 22 years in office.

Dr Mahathir also warned Tunku Abdul Aziz to apologise if no evidence is found connecting him to the allegations which were hurled at him.

“As a MACC member, he is free to conduct a full investigation on my record to find out the billions which I stole from the government as he imagined.

“If he fails to do so, he should at least apologise,” stated Dr M in his blog, chedet.cc.

Dr Mahathir also added that Tunku Abdul Aziz should also question flamboyant businessmen, Jho Low and Riza Aziz -- the stepson of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak -- how they had obtained cash worth millions of dollars.

“As an individual who admits he is concerned about corruption, shouldn’t he ask how Jho Low and Riza Aziz has millions of dollars.

"Shouldn't he be interested with civil servants who are living luxuriously above their income scale?” questioned Dr Mahathir.

He caustically questioned Tunku Abdul Aziz, whether he is suffering from “selective memory with regards to what is going on around him”.

The former premier was commenting on a comment made by Tunku Aziz towards him, which included a scandal with Bumiputra Malaysia Finance (BMF) in a newspaper recently.

If Tunku Abdul Aziz fails to do so, he should at least apologise

Dr Mahathir also questioned the action taken by Tunku Abdul Aziz, who is seen as opting baseless reasons to accuse him of being involved in the BMF scandal. The former, had earlier rejected an attempt made by Tunku Abdul Aziz for comparing the debt-stricken 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) crisis with BMF, during his term as Prime Minister.

Almost AS$1 billion (approximately RM2.4 billion) was loaned by Bank Bumiputra to two investment companies through its wholly owned subsidiaries , BMF. One of it was later declared bankrupt.

Dr Mahathir said he had not siphoned off any cash and never held any position in the bank, its management or involved in any decision making process.
