Two-year-old found dead in vacant house

The body of Nursyafiqah Abdullah, 2, was found by a 31-year old security guard, with traces of blood and in a state of decomposition.

State CID chief ACP K.Manoharan said the security guard had detected a stench and noticing that the door of the empty house was ajar, went in to inspect.

"The body was lying on the bathroom floor with blood stains on its dress. It was already bloated and we believe she has been dead for more than 24 hours.

The remains had been sent to Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) Hospital in Kuala Terengganu for post mortem and DNA profiling.

Nursyafiqah was reported missing since the 17 January. Her mother Rabiatul Adawiyah Mamat, 28, said she left her daughter in an unlocked car in front of a restaurant in Kuala Paka whilst going to see a friend at 7.30pm.

When she came back to her car, she found her daughter gone and suspects kidnapping.

In a police report, Rabiatul has admitted to receiving death threats from a debt collector.

Meanwhile, the picture of the dead girl’s body has been circulating on social media, prompting strong reactions from social media users including Former Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

He says that those who those who have been disseminating this picture have no regards for the feelings of the family or maybe they like violence.
