Unscheduled water supply disruption, homes in Sabak Bernam affected
SYABAS had placed water tankers and static tanks on standby to assist affected households.
An unscheduled water supply disruption due to a temporary shut down of Air Bernam River Headwork water treatment plant will cause 30,098 homes Sabak Bernam to go without water or experience low water pressure from Wednesday.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SYABAS) in a statement in Kuala Lumpur said the affected areas are Sungai Besar, Pekan Sabak, Parit Baru, Sungai Air Tawar, Sungai Nibong, Pasir Panjang, Sungai Panjang, Sungai Haji Dorani, Sungai Lang and Sepintas.
The closure of the plant by Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd was due to flooding following the Sungai Bernam overflowing its banks as a result of heavy rain overnight.
The statement said SYABAS had placed water tankers and static tanks on standby to assist affected households.
