Water rationing to continue despite rainfall - SYABAS
The plan to ration water supply at phase one and three will continue even though there was rainfall in several areas for the past few days.
In a statement Tuesday, Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said the plan for the water rationing would continue until there were amendments or instructions from the Selangor Government and the National Water Services Commission (SPAN).
"However, we would like to announce that the water treatment plant (LRA) in Batu 11, Cheras has been in operation since 9pm yesterday following a drop in the ammonia level while that in Bukit Tampoi is still closed.
"With that, the water released by the operating LRA has been channelled to the consumers," the statement said.
It said the ammonia level in Sungai Langat could still not be determined if it was at a low level and was being observed by the LRA operations team.
The statement also said that consumers should continue to give their full co-operation in efforts to reduce water consumption and continue being prudent to enable the existing water supply to last longer.
