Water rationing: Selangor to enjoy normal water supply beginning Thursday - SPAN
The water rationing in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya which started on February 27, will be lifted effective Thursday, May 1, 2014.
According to media reports, the matter was announced by the National Water Services Commission (SPAN) chairman, Datuk Ismail Kasim in a statement in Kangar on Wednesday.
He said consumers who were affected by the rationing will be able to enjoy water supply as usual beginning Thursday.
Ismail said that the decision was confirmed by the Selangor state government through an official letter dated April 29, 2014.
In the letter, the state secretary, Datuk Mohammad Khusrin Munawi stated that the matter was decided upon during a meeting held with the Selangor State Water Monitoring Committee.
The meeting chaired by Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was attended by senior secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, director of the Selangor Water Management Board (LUAS) and related agency representatives.
Khalid is scheduled to announce the matter during a press conference in Shah Alam on Wednesday evening.
