A youth-held forum on the issue of Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim yesterday at the Selangor Chinese Assembly hall, turned sour with its participants engaging in verbal assaults.
PKR Youth deputy information chief Rozan Azen Mat Rasip who defended the party’s decision to sack Abdul Khalid questioned why the MB made many decisions against the party’s manifesto.
His statement drew the ire of others, who demanded that he refrain from speaking anymore. The situation tuned tense and the organisers had to calm the participants before the forum resumed.
Another participant, Pakatan Anak Selangor Sokong Menteri Besar (PASSMEB) president, Mazli Filter, said the issue of Selangor Mb has been politicised.
"People do not like those who are not good in politics. Anwar Ibrahim, is a Malaysian political scientist. He said Abdul Khalid did not help the members of the party and the state," he said referring to PKR de fato leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"For five years in administration, every assemblyman gets RM1.1 mil allocation. If 56 assemblymen get RM1.1mil each, that’s RM63 mil per year. If its multiplied with five, how much is it? So who said that the state government is not helping," he asked.
Meanwhile Khalid's special officer Shazni Munir Mohd Ithnin, said the allegations against his boss must be substantiated with hard evidence.
"The proof should be strong. It should be investigated clearly. Do not make accusations. We from the Menteri Besar’s office have already made a report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding these allegations.
"We are willing to be investigated and our door is always open. Please investigate us, "he said.
Support for Abdul Khalid were evident at the forum with banners with words 'Rakyat tetap sokong TSKI’ and ‘Rakyat Selangor akan balas dalam PRU’ were carried by supporters.
One participant even came forward and said the people want a MB with intergrity and not a 'puppet'.
More than 50 participants turned out at the forum. They were not satisfied with the PKR disciplinary board's decision on Saturday to sack Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim from the party.
Abdul Khalid was sacked from PKR on Saturday, as a lifetime member, yesterday.
