Call for Tawau folk to fly the national flag

The Tawau Municipal Council has asked government agencies, private companies and business premises in the district to fly the 'Jalur Gemilang' national flag in conjunction with the 57th Merdeka Day.

Its president, Datuk Ismail Mayakub, also called on the people in the district to also fly the flag at their homes.

"The spirit of patriotism must be instilled in the younger generation for continuity in maintaining peace and harmony," he told reporters after launching a 'Fly the Jalur Gemilang' campaign here.
