Tan Sri Adenan Satem has implemented a lot of initiatives as Sarawak chief minister in the two years upon assuming the post, noted Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The Prime Minister further noted that Adenan, in a short time since February 2014 had announced a lot of people-friendly policies.
"He is capable of implementing more initiatives if given a big mandate to lead the state. So the people should give him another five years. It is not fair to give him just two years," he said.
Najib was speaking at a 'Sembang Santai' programme in Siburan, about 35 km from here.
He said the initiatives implemented by Adenan included abolition of road tolls and premium payments for agricultural land and housing, which had a major impact on the people.
"Tok Nan and I have made a pledge to bring more development to Sarawak," he said.
On the wrangling among opposition parties, Najib said it should serve to remind the people on the reason to retain Sarawak BN as their state government.
"Last January, DAP, PKR and PAN (Parti Amanah Negara) in their pledge said they would field only one candidate in every constituency to challenge BN, but that promise had not been kept.
"There is no longer any unity among the opposition parties and they are fighting each other in six constituencies. They are not cooperating with each other.
"So it is unlikely that they can form a stable government in Sarawak," he said.
Meanwhile at the event, Najib, who is also BN chairman declared his full support for Mambong BN direct candidate Datuk Dr Jerip Susil. The constituency was formerly known as Bengoh.
He said BN's choice of Dr Jerip who is from the Bidayuh community, a minority group in Malaysia proved that the coalition practises inclusiveness, giving all races the opportunity to be part of the country's administration.
