After leading Barisan Nasional (BN) to a landslide victory in the May 7 state election, Tan Sri Adenan Satem opted not to sit on his laurels and came to work to immediately perform his duties as the state's chief executive.

He arrived in the office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia at 9.30 am today on his first day in office after being sworn in as Sarawak’s sixth Chief Minister on Saturday.

He was greeted by State Secretary, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani; Director of Human Resource Management Unit, Dr Sabariah Putit; Senior Private Secretary, Azmi Haji Bujang; Special Administrative Officer, Wan Khalik Wan Muhammad; and other officers of the Chief Minister’s Office.

A simple thanksgiving ceremony was later held at his office.
