All 191 UMNO division heads solidly behind PM Najib - Tengku Adnan

All 191 UMNO division leaders fully support the leadership of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as party president and prime minister, said UMNO secretary-general and Putrajaya UMNO division chief Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

He said the cohesive support was revealed by the 191 division chiefs in a closed-door meeting with the Prime Minister at Seri Perdana here Wednesday night.

"All the UMNO division heads told the Prime Minister that they were all behind him for religion, race and country.

"Such support is important in ensuring that the party is strong and in no way threatened," he said.

Tengku Adnan, who is also Federal Territories Minister, said this when speaking at the simultaneous opening of Putrajaya UMNO's Wanita, Youth and Puteri annual delegates conference here on Thursday.

In his speech, he said those who had left the party should not be marginalised but instead approached to come back and support UMNO again.

Tengku Adnan added that he had received information on the opposition's attempts to lure UMNO branch heads in Putrajaya. The people involved were break-away UMNO members.

Hence, he advised Putrajaya UMNO Division leadership at the Women, Youth and Puteri levels to be close with society and to go down to the grassroots to find out the problems of the people.
