KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has shown itself to be the best example of political cooperation which is focused on ensuring the people's well-being, said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The prime minister said the commitment of GRS in developing Sabah was worth emulating, and this model of cooperation should be extended to other states for the benefit of the people throughout the country.
Muhyiddin, who is Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, said he supported the cooperation established by GRS leaders in championing the fate of Sabahans.
"Sabah (GRS) is the best example of commitment without indulging in too much politicking, just focusing on what the people want and what Sabah requires ... It should be a priority for this to be extended to other parts of Malaysia.
"This is not a question of who is popular or which party is better; it is a question of what we can do for the rakyat," he told a press conference after launching the Lok Kawi Resort City Development at the Sabah International Convention Centre here today.
Also present were Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor, his deputies Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam and Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, and Senior International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
GRS, which comprises PN, Barisan Nasional and Parti Bersatu Sabah, formed the state government after winning the Sabah state election in September last year.
