U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday (August 11) the law "is very strong" regarding the two term limit for presidents established in the U.S. Constitution.
After disembarking from Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews, Trump was asked if he was serious about running in 2028.
"Everybody asked me that question. And you know that the law is very strong on that," Trump replied. "I'd love to run, but the law is very strong."
The 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that "no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."
