Suspended UMNO deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today admitted that he is not afraid of Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor’s threat that he could be expelled from the party if he continues to voice out.
Muhyididn at a press conference today stressed that he would be even bolder in speaking out with the mandate given to him as the party’s deputy president.
“On the secretary-general’s warning, I am not afraid of such threats. The struggle isn’t over,” he said at a special press conference today.
“Although I remain in UMNO, I will continue to voice out,” he added.
Before this, Tengku Adnan was reported to have said that it is not impossible for the UMNO disciplinary board to expel Muhyiddin from the party if he continues to criticise the party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Muhyiddin said his criticism was to save the party from being abandoned by the people.
“The Supreme Council does not speak, Disciplinary Board does not act. Who makes the most mistakes?,” he questioned.
Last Friday, UMNO’s powerful Supreme Council had suspended Muhyiddin from his position.

Muhyiddin who held a press conference today to explain his next move following the suspension vowed to remain in the party.
He also said that he is not involved in any conspiracy to topple Najib.

"I will not remain quiet but will continue to fight. This is not a one person's struggle but this is a people's struggle," he said at a press conference.
Former Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal also attended the press conference.
