'I'm not worried about being dropped' - Khairy
KHAIRY: We must protect the institutions' freedom and speak without any fear.
UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin was not fazed by any probable actions taken against him for openly criticising the transfer of two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) senior officers.
"I'm not worried (of my position being affected or dropped from the Cabinet) as I believe we should stick to the truth.
"We must protect the freedom of institutions and speak without any fear," he told reporters after opening the Wanita, Pemuda and Puteri UMNO Klang division meeting on Saturday.
He said what he did was in line with party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak's speech in Bandar Tun Razak earlier, who did not want 'yes man' leaders.
"Even the Prime Minister had said he did not want 'yes man' around him, which means he (Najib) appreciates anyone who gives different opinions.
"So, I'm doing this because many civil servants have voiced their concerns (about the MACC transfers)," said Khairy.
Najib, during his opening speech at the Bandar Tun Razak UMNO division meeting on Saturday, had stressed that he is not a president who wants 'yes man' leaders in the party.
