'Longtime leader willing to sell his struggle' - PM Najib disappointed
NAJIB: Was he also not exempted from such accusations, he himself is throwing at me when he was in power?
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today said there was no difference between his leadership and that of his predecessor as both were not free of accusations.
Nonetheless, Najib expressed his disappointment with the attitude of the leader who chose to collude with their political enemies even though he was himself accused of bribing, abuse of power and as a top robber by the parties concerned.
"I am very disappointed when a longtime leader was willing to sell his struggle in the name of religion, race and nation merely to abet with other parties which clearly have conflicting objectives as well as party values which he himself fought for in the past.
"To topple the government, he is now attacking the government today," said the Prime Minister through his latest audio recording at his website www.najibrazak.com.
The Prime Minister said it was public knowledge that the leader was willing to do anything in the effort to bring down the government of the day, merely to satisfy his own ego.
Najib said due to his ego, the leader was hurling various accusations against the present leadership and administration, even though what was hurled were exaggerated slanders.
"Was he also not exempted from such accusations, he himself is throwing at me when he was in power?
"Despite the accusations thrown at him in the past, buildings as well as infrastructure were completed, the country was transformed even though the same political enemies he is now conspiring with accused him of giving bribes, abuse of power as well as the top robber," said the prime minister.
Nonetheless, in the midst of the attacks by the leader, Najib stressed that he would continue to carry out his responsibilities for the development of the religion, race and country.
