Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak regarded the opposition in Malaysia as "ali baba" as there is no consensus among them on the person to be appointed as prime minister should they win in the coming general election.
He said it was weird that the opposition only agreed on the choice of deputy prime minister.
"Who is to be the prime minister, they have not decided. Who wants to be the prime minister? Wan Azizah (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, or Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"What is weird is that the deputy prime minister will choose the person to be the prime minister. The opposition is 'ali baba'," he said in his speech when opening the Sabah Pan Borneo Expressway in Sindumin near here today.
Also present were Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusuf and his deputy, Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin.
Najib also regarded the opposition a liar because they made promises, but did not fulfill them.
"In the peninsula, we call them "temberang". Certainly, we do not want people to play with promises. The opposition can only promise, but empty promises.
"We do not want to promise the moon and the stars. We want progress and change. We want today to be better than yesterday. Today, we see the reality, my commitment as prime minister, this Pan Borneo Expressway is a gift for the Sabah people," he said.
Najib said Barisan Nasional (BN) is a coalition where there is consensus among its 13 component parties.
"We will bring development to all the people, regardless of their race, religion and culture, what more in Sabah which is known for its diversity.
"What is most important is that Sabah is always with us," he added.
