Terengganu stands behind Najib as party president
AHMAD RAZIF: we in Terengganu fully support Datuk Seri Najib's call to move forward.
Terengganu UMNO said it was fully committed to supporting Datuk Seri Najib Razak as party president.
Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said at the Kuala Nerus UMNO's 27th delegates meeting today that there might have been some anxiety lately among the people and party supporters about certain issues.
"But we in Terengganu fully support Datuk Seri Najib's call to move forward and focus on resolving these issues that are playing on the people's mind," he said.
The Prime Minister officiated the meeting which was attended by about 5,000 UMNO members at the Gong Badak Sports Complex indoor stadium here.
Also present were UMNO supreme council member Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh who is also Higher Education Minister and Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Datuk Jailani Johari, who is also Terengganu UMNO Liaison deputy chairman.
Others dignitaries at the event were Terengganu State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohd Zubir Embong and State Secretary Datuk Osman Muda.
Ahmad Razif also expressed the state government's appreciation to the prime minister's for his attention in the development of the state and wellbeing of the people.
"The prime minister has approved 18 projects, among them, construction of a drawbridge, an aquapolitan project, the Kuala Besut tourism arch, flood mitigation project in Kemaman and many more.
"The total allocation for all the projects is almost RM3 billion excluding the private sector commitment of RM2 billion," he said.
