UMNO general assembly from Nov 29 to Dec 3

The UMNO General Assembly 2016 will be held from Nov 29 to Dec 3, the UMNO Supreme Council announced today.

Party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the President’s briefing will be held in the evening of Nov 29, followed by the officiating of the party wings' meetings.

"The Council has also decided for Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to officiate the meetings.

"On Wednesday (Nov 30), the party wings' meetings will be held and followed by a Supreme Council special meeting at night.

"The UMNO general assembly will commence from Dec 1 to 3. That's the schedule," Najib, who is Prime Minister, told a news conference after chairing an UMNO Supreme Council meeting at the Menara Dato' Onn at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.

He also announced that UMNO had received 6,000 new membership registrations last August.

"It consists of 374 members, 731 Wanita, 2,716 Pemuda and 2,179 Puteri. This proves that UMNO is supported by many," he said.

He added that the UMNO Supreme Council has also received several views for Budget 2017 and they would be considered in accordance with the government's financial means.
