Ev Ting is getting ready to roar in Lion City

The 29-year-old is scheduled to meet Turkey’s “Dagi” Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev on 22 February in Singapore at ONE: CALL TO GREATNESS.

It is a matchup that looks set to be an explosive encounter, featuring two men capable of ending the contest in the blink of an eye.

Ting is one of the most respected and well-rounded athletes currently competing in the lightweight division while his 24-year-old opponent has developed a reputation as being absolutely relentless in his pursuit of victory.

Between them, they have a combined total of nine first-round stoppages with Ting holding four and Arslanaliev five.

It took the Russian-born Turkish athlete less than two minutes to finish his opponent Timofey Nastyukhin in his last outing, in September at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES. Fans can expect Arslanaliev ’s trademark blistering starts to be in full effect on 22 February.

However, after taking part in over 20 professional bouts, Ting is well versed in dealing with all types of challenges inside the ring.

While he respects the danger “Dagi” poses, Ting is confident he has the necessary tools to get the job done on the night.

“He [Arslanaliev] is a big dark horse, a super powerhouse in [his]wrestling, “ Ting said in a recent interview.

“His striking is starting to come through as well, but he is only six fights deep in his pro career. So I definitely have the experience and the will, to work for the win.”

After riding a wave of success in the first half of 2018 with back to back victories over Ariel Sexton and Koji Ando, Ting experienced a setback after he was submitted by former ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya Aoki when the pair clashed in October.
